Driving Lessons – Three Stages of Development

Stage 1: Basic Driving Knowledge  – You’ll learn to move off and stop, change gear,  turn left, right and emerge from junctions, we’ll aim to get you comfortable driving on small roads with minimum traffic.

Stage 2: Intermediate Driving Knowledge  – You’ll  learn and understand what you need to do when confronted with different situations on the road. This will include crossroads, pedestrian crossings and roundabouts. This stage allows you to begin to develop from being a learner to being a driver, it gives you the knowledge, self belief and confidence to make appropriate choices.

Stage 3: Skill – By this stage you’ll have a good understanding of what, when and how to do it, but we’ll work together to refine your driving skills before the practical test day. This stage involves learning to drive independently and encourages critical thinking.

Complementing these practical stages, your instructor will be actively demonstrating the hazard perception and theory, needed to pass your theory test.
