LESSONS

All pupils must hold a valid UK provisional driving licence and present it before their first lesson. Any changes to your entitlement to drive must be disclosed immediately.
Lessons are typically one hour unless agreed otherwise.
The instructor will provide a fully insured tuition vehicle. If you provide your own vehicle, you must ensure it is insured and road legal, and provide written proof of insurance.
Please be ready to begin your lesson up to 10 minutes before or after your scheduled time, to allow for unavoidable delays. If your instructor will be significantly delayed, they will notify you.
If a pupil is more than 10 minutes late, the lesson will be cancelled and the full fee will be charged.
Occasionally, another qualified instructor may deliver your lesson if your regular instructor is unavailable. You will be informed in advance.
In the event of a mechanical issue or unforeseen circumstance, lessons may be rescheduled.
If your instructor believes you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs, the lesson will be cancelled immediately and the full fee will apply.

An assessment drive is available for pupils with prior experience to determine current ability.
Intensive and semi-intensive courses require at least 12 weeks’ notice and must be paid in full at the time of booking.
Intensive courses include 30 hours of tuition; semi-intensive courses include 15 hours.
Refresher lessons are available for qualified drivers looking to rebuild confidence or adjust to a new vehicle.

You will only be put forward for a practical test when your instructor is confident that you are ready.
Pupils must not book a driving test without prior agreement.
DVSA requires three full working days to cancel a test. If your instructor deems you unready within this period, your test fee may be lost.
For safety reasons, the instructor reserves the right to withhold use of the tuition vehicle for a test.
Blackwood School of Motoring is not liable for financial loss in the event of breakdown during lessons or on test day.

A lesson is considered booked once it has been agreed with the instructor.
Payment must be made no later than 8:00pm on the evening before the scheduled lesson.
If payment is not received by this time, the booking will be treated as a late cancellation and the full lesson fee will remain payable.
A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule any lesson.
If you cancel within 48 hours, you are still liable for the full lesson fee.
Two missed or short-notice cancellations in a row may result in your tuition being withdrawn permanently.
Cancellations made by the pupil must be confirmed directly with Blackwood School of Motoring within the notice period.

If you end a discounted package or pre-paid deal early, lessons already taken will be charged at the full hourly rate, and any remaining balance will be refunded.
Pre-paid lessons not taken within three months are non-refundable, unless agreed otherwise.
All refunds are at the discretion of Blackwood School of Motoring and may incur an admin fee.

Deposits for lessons or courses are non-refundable.
Intensive and semi-intensive courses must be paid in full at the time of booking.
Gift vouchers, block bookings, and pre-paid lessons are valid for three months from purchase unless otherwise stated.
If you are unable to begin or complete lessons within that period, you must contact us within the three-month timeframe or your credit will become void.
Gift vouchers have no monetary value and are only valid upon verification.

We are proud to offer a friendly and respectful learning environment.
Abusive, threatening, or inappropriate behaviour towards instructors will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
This includes verbal abuse, inappropriate messages, or disrespectful conduct during lessons.
Any such behaviour will result in immediate termination of tuition without refund.
